Struggling with your headlines? Here are 5 formats you can use

Many a times after writing a beautiful piece, we are left with the confusion of what headline or title to give it. Writing comes easy to many, but the art of giving a captivating and appealing headline is also a game changer in the writing space. Headlines and topics are the first and important parts of a write up. It is the portion of essay that determines if your work would be read or not. Gone are the days of ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’, people decide what articles to read by the headlines they are given. Strategic headlines can help to attract readers to articles and your content in general.
If you are having a bit of struggles naming your blog posts or battling with headlines, here are a few formats you might want to apply👇🏾
- ‘HOW TO … WITHOUT …’ :-This is an introduction into a content that is expository. It exposes your reader into a new world knowledge they’ve been void of. Trust me, no one gets more attracted to a write up than a person in search of a better method for a searched result. An example for this headline is; how to get a flat tummy without exercises.
- ‘SECRET … TO … FINALLY REVEALED’:- This headline is also a topnotch format for content writers who intend to expose a new information to their audience. An example of this format is; Secret recipe to cooking Nigerian Jollof finally revealed.
- ‘TIRED OF … HERE’S HOW TO GET RID OF IT’:- This headline projects hope and an option for rescue. It is an appealing headline for those readers with unattractive habits and are ready to adapt to new healthy habits. An headline example is; Tired of roaches infested apartments? Here’s how to get rid of it.
- ‘BEFORE YOU … READ THIS’:- Such a life saver headline right? People would definitely open this article because they want to know if they are right or wrong about an action before performing it. An example is; Before you send that mail application, read this)
- HERE’S HOW TO … IN …:- This type of headline teaches the target audience ways to learn a new skill or solve a situation through an overview of points. To write a how-to headline, writers start with the phrase “how to,” followed by the action they want their readers to learn. It helps highlight why that particular article might benefit them. An example is; How to gain new 100 followers in 2 days.
