Rotten Paper
Hi Guys, it’s been a while since I dropped a poem. Here’s my latest piece titled, ‘Rotten Paper’.
Rotten Paper
• The big-bellied men are at it again
Sharing mint notes to buy silence and loyalty
Stacking up piles of the Country’s wealth to build an empire
• The sweet-toothed women are at it again
Dancing to the tunes of the wealthy piper
Feasting ‘up the hook’ to make a name for themselves
• The young men are at it again
Misled by the Spirit of the rotten paper to hustle by hook or make it by crook
And nightfall becomes the new daytime
• The greedy official is at it again
Controlled by the amount and smell of the bundle
Overturning judgments and embezzling funds
• The Little Church boy did leave the church gate again
With his offering at hand, he engaged the buns seller
With new pieces in mouth, his oily lips still pleaded for more.
