FROM MY INK TO YOUR HEART

It’s been two weeks since I last posted poetry or any other content on this space.
So today, I decided to write to the person who mattered the most.
You
Yes, You.
If this was a visual conversation I would reply with, ‘Yes, You. I didn’t stutter’.😂
Writing in itself is therapeutic, but having the thoughts that you anticipate my next verses is refreshing. So encouraging that I sometimes discover broad smiles stuck on my round face.
…
I hope my ink never dries
These words it wields, not only for my eyes
I hope my ink never dries
Till it’s an engraved word in your hearts
I hope my fortune pen blesses your heart
Mends your soul
Gives you clarity in a confused world
The ink that never dies
…

Dear amazing reader,
Do you remember how you said this year was going to be different…
Well, Is it?
Or it’s completely like previous years? with life looking all ash and grey…
Have you been intentional about those visions? It would gladden my heart that you head back to the vision board and make things right if you have not been intentional.
The FIFTH month in the year 2023 is in less than 48 hours. This is only a call to action to get back on those beautiful things you had mapped out for the year.
Hold up!
It didn’t work out on first trial? C’mon now, how about you try again!
You don’t think you’re fully equipped to start? C’mon just start already, you don’t have to have it all figured out!
You feel depressed? C’mon now, think of the beautiful moments you’ve had and the awesome future that awaits you!
The first key to unapologetic living is believing in yourself. You’ve got this, it’s not over.
It’s such an amazing thing that you started the year with a vibe, a great momentum to crush goals and set milestones.
Nothing good comes easy and I know you’re also aware of that. So man up, stand tall, and get back to the game plan baby! Cause we’re so acing this life progress thing together.
Here are a few tips to ensure you don’t relapse:
- Morning Affirmations- Speak positively to yourself every morning. Read the plans and goals over and over again. Reassure yourself that these are higher purposes to live for.
- Avoid your triggers- If possible, try to fully avoid your triggers. At what point do you feel relaxed the most and loosened. Remove potential distractions. Social media can be a distraction, set an alarm that times the time you spend actively on the internet.
- Be intentional- Your goals need to be simplified. Break them down to every day activities that would help your progression. For instance if by December you intend reading 25 books, then try to read nothing less than 3books for the next 8months. Depending on the number of pages, you can decide to read nothing less than 20pages per day.
- Ask for help- No man is an island and unless your goals are to sleep and snore, you should be out there collaborating, interning or asking for due help from the right people. At the end of the day even if a 100% wasn’t achieved, your year’s goal should be 75% ticked off
- Make sure to write- Journaling would ensure your progress is monitored. Give yourself the permission to make mistakes, note them so you can learn from it. It can help you gain control of your emotions and improve your mental health.
I’m excited I get to write to you today😁
