An Open Letter To My Future Self

Words written in time are always the fastest to get delivered. These words dear Mide, I encrypt 19/12/2024, in time. I’m hoping you read this and look back on your strength, your efforts, and the inevitable success you now attain through the combined efforts of destiny, faith, prayers, work, and diligence.

Fulfillment some say, comes with actualization of wealth and success. But fulfillment is the attainment of purpose. It is when we can lay our head on our pillow without having to deal with guilt. It is when we can hold the phone and smile down as we scroll through our marked checklist.

It’s the pride and dignity we will feel in completing what we’ve built that impacts others. Success to you, must ultimately mean and remain fulfilling purpose.

By the time you read through these words, you will be married, you will be a mother, an author, a global woman of substance. But bear in mind…when the boat shakes, be at rest. If the storm rages, be at rest, if your heart can’t take it, speak sweet whispers to your mind to hold on faithfully to that anchor your parents always showed you. That anchor ⚓ that’s plunged to the rock of ages. your rock of Comfort. He has proved himself over and over again. Even in 2024.

I am a testament of God’s goodness.

I have tasted of his mercy.

I have seen that God is good, and gracious.

I’m a year older today and as I reflect on the many blessings I’ve experienced over the years – mindset shift, growth, access, favour…I can’t help but draft a reminder dear future self, to remind you that have all you need to gain grounds, do exploits, only trust God!

It is never to late to learn new skills, if you want it, then please go for it. I want you to open your innermost mind and stretch, build capacity. Countless opportunities that awaits you, please seize it. Remember to observe the times/seasons. Know when you can scout and know when to launch forward.
